about 10 days ago I e-mailed the promoter to find out how to get the digital download that forms part of the ticket price paid to those going to Chris's Aussie concerts. Suprise Suprise no answer.

Today I phoned Mr Mcmanus 's office and was told that I'll have it by the end of the week. Considering its Thursday afternoon, what do you think my chances are of getting it laugh.gif laugh.gif

If I don't get it by Monday I'll ring and ask to speak the boss !!!!!

I wonder if the four songs on itunes are the free ones for us????

No great suprise that the digital download link hasn't appeared.

I phoned Preferred Seating who I bought my tickets through and guess what!!! they didn't know anything it. I gave the URL to McManus's website that clearly states the download is for EVERY ticket sold.

Salesperson from P.S. said that it was only for Ticketmaster sales. Told him to read again that says ALL tickets sold. He said to ring the promoter. My reply was the promoter told me to ring them!! sad.gif

After going around in circles for about 5 minutes, I now have to wait until they do an investigation about the downloads.

I urge anyone that has used Preferred Seating to make enquiries or we may never hear the downloads mad.gif

Any luck?
Someone needs to send McmAnus' office a calendar. I was told that the link would be up on their site well before the 28th ....... of February. Perhaps they meant 2010?
What a right cock up. dry.gif rolleyes.gif

Mr McManus is CI's current Australian promoter. I think most of us dealing with this current fiasco, along with others in the past couple of years would agree that his work is questionable.

Just as well I don't get worked up about stuff like this any more. I confirm everything that jac, katina, Cheryl and anyone else have said. What load of manure it all is.

Snake oil salesman, is what comes to mind whenever I think of McManus. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole idea of the digital download thing was his own little money-making scheme. Where was this man when 99% of Australia's showbiz sector were either arranging, or supporting benefits for the Bushfire Relief victims/survivors a couple of weeks ago? The only thing you saw in the media of McManus was a smug-looking picture of him in the paper with Stevie Nicks and an article boasting about how well their racehorse was doing. Well woop-de-bloody-doo. While Michael Gudinski (Australia's most professional, and BEST music promoter bar none), was putting Sound Relief together, where was McManus? What useful contribution did he make?? None that I've heard of, so far at any rate.

As for the digital download thing, it definitely inflated the ticket price, no matter how 'free' it supposedly was. As a ticketmaster customer, I got an email yesterday to tell me the download link was now available, so I went over to the download site earlier this morning and tried it, but it makes you jump through several hoops to get it. First of all, it's on a site I've never heard of called 'chrisisaakmusic.com.au' which is run by somebody called 'Digirama Music & Entertainment Limited' (I found it always pays to read the fine print when I'm being ripped off) I have no idea if McManus is connected in any way with either of these other companies, but I wouldn't be surprised. So, I go over there and first of all it asks me to join just to download (yet ANOTHER bloody invitation to join something 'or else'....I am SO sick of those sites all over the net....). Anyway, so I grit my teeth and decide to join....and of course they want to know your private details, like your birthdate (I told them I was 89 - so they can make of that what they will. tongue.gif ) and they also wanted my mobile number.....but they did NOT give you a choice of opting out of being sent all their phone spam, so I left that bit blank, and it seemed to go through, but then I couldn't get any further because it kept saying that I needed my registration 'confirmed' first (thank goodness I gave them a legit. email addy tongue.gif ) but that was a good 30 minutes ago now, and so far, nothin' nada, zip, zilch has arrived at my hotmail account to tell me I'm 'confirmed'. I ain't holding my breath either, because most confirmation emails you get from anywhere these days are fully automated, so should come through pretty much instantaneously. This is not a good sign. However, I'll keep monitoring my hotmail addy over the course of today and see what happens next.

Katina ~ if it finally comes through you can have my copy - I'm no longer interested.

Every time he was promoted by Michael Chugg it was always smooth sailing.
There's a reason Chugg wins awards.

Well slap me, and call me all kinds of stupid (and a few more!) but I thought to look in my junkmail folder after I posted the above, and yep, there was the confirmation email.... rolleyes.gif And just when I was about to write them a really pissy complaint letter too (caught myself in the nick of time...). I would have then had to write to them again to say sorry....(but oh well, if they saw that I was 89 they would have just thought, poor old thing doesn't know what she's doing laugh.gif )

Soooo.......it's downloading right now....but is coming through at the rate of snails (something like 16 kbs per second blink.gif ) so hopefully I'll have something by midnight tonight. laugh.gif (I also see it's coming from some ISP in New Zealand, so maybe it's coming via Middle Earth?!?)

Yes, good old Michael Chugg...we DO have some decent music promotors/entrepreneurs in this country. It's just a damn shame the Isaak entourage didn't choose to go with any of them. rolleyes.gif

I got one link from the agency that I got 2 tickets from, and was told that they were only given one link for ALL tickets they had purchased.
It took 30mins to download and like everyone else who commented at the site~

I was gypped of Track 10 "The Best I Ever Had" !!!!! mad.gif

And here's another complaint while I'm at it. NO cover art and NO track listings to print off.

Michael Chugg Rocks, don't know why Chris ever went with McManus. I guess we shouldn't complain who
brings him out and promotes him in Australia though cause at least we still get to see him. The whole free
download thing is a big mess though. I bought 7 tickets for Canberra and I haven't heard a thing since.

But I'm too happy to give a shit about the download - got my cd today so I'm one happy girl.

Ohh back on the subject of McManus - they have booked a bigger venue in Canberra this year and I was
totally surprised to learn that the radio station here who are promoting him were offering tickets last
weekend at the special price of $55. You still had to log onto ticketek and use the code word MIX and yep
a ticket could have been yours for $55.

Makes me wonder if they aren't selling enough or something?

I paid $117 for mine but it was worth it because of the seats I got but HELLO ... $55! xx

Yes....I saw that too, jac. There's a lot of very pissed-off people on that download page. Me, personally - I'm past that now. I'm with stuff & nonsense up above. I can't be bothered getting worked up about it, so I'm not even going to bother going out of my way to get that extra track, let alone the myriad other extra tracks on offer, most (all?!) of which you have to pay extra for. All I can say is, it's a pretty damn good marketing tool. By the time you fork out for all the extra bits and pieces you've probably shelled out for an entire second album. Well, they can stick that. I've spent enough money as far as Mr. Isaak's concerned over the years. (Besides, I can do with my money much more than he can, I'm sure. tongue.gif ) However, I agree that this extra track IS something you're entitled to, if you purchased that concert ticket(s) originally from Ticketmaster or whomever, because it was promised as part of the original deal. If it's offically on the album, it should be part of the download as well. This whole thing has been a giant balls-up from start to finish. rolleyes.gif

Senayr, I hope I standing right next to you when you need to ask Chris about the download. The junk and hoops I have gone through to get my ticket to the Thursday night show will never happen again.......

The Promoter and ticket outlet scenario needs to change. In better times, getting a ticket to see CI&S was a piece of cake. Now.......HIDEOUS is the best word to describe what most of us have encountered Down Under. mad.gif

Well, Mizz C, I see those cutbacks have finally hit Oz. Or should that be 'hut Oz'? tongue.gif

What an absolute debacle!!!!! mad.gif And you know your way around the net/download world. Goddess help me when I need to spend an entire long weekend waiting for Middle Earth to download a song - or if I am exxxxxxxxttttrrrra lucky songs.

Thank Goddess I am a patient Goddess. laugh.gif

NOT.

And, if only the Isaak Entourage had though to ask us for advice on Oz Promoters......Past experience and ease of booking venues etc should have been the clue really. Life can be simple.....Paris can be simple if one knows the language! Why must everyone else complicate the process? sad.gif
