I can't post a reply just at the minute (not working). I don't do gossip and Rodney ain't talking
Sheryl Louis is still Chris's manager as far as I know. I heard the doggie was hers but but he obviously gets on with Chris like a house on fire. He's a great little pooch and seems to have done a lot of tripping around the country. Quarantine regulations mean we won't see him in Australia, which is a shame. Rodney is certainly a talking point and so far he hasn't relieved himself in front of an audience. Now that would be funny! I have no idea who took the photo or where it was taken. Someone sent it me about 18 months ago. I hope that person doesn't mind the pic going up here, but I can't see any harm in it. SL is often at concerts, doing her job, so is a well-known face. (And Rodney is rapidly becoming famous

I took the photo at KFOG's Concert4Kids and someone ganked it from my yahoo photo album (which I posted a link to about a year and a half ago) on Reprise. It is definitely Sheryl. She posed w/Rodney for me in several shots.

Did anyone ever ask Chris what breed of dog Rodney is? Does anyone know otherwise?

Rodney is a Maltese. (Actually, I didn't know that until I watched for the first time the NFL Total Access clip that I posted on this board. Rodney is looking tres cute in that clip!)

The dog is a cutie pie for sure. I'd love one like that!
Forgive me, but this is a picture of Sheryl? This is the woman of his dreams? Sorry folks. (I have been a fan for 20 years.) All he has to do is tell the women he is interested in that they have to sign a pre-nup so he can hang onto his fortune. If they are gold-diggers, they will move on. Not too difficult a concept to grasp. Sorry for being nosy. Just need to get this out of my system so I can move on. Chris Rocks -------------------- Peace and Love

this is my first time seeing the elusive sheryl, i know you shouldn't always go by looks but to me she seems to look like a really nice pleasant person...just my opinion but if we all like chris as much as we claim wouldn't we want someone like that around him instead of "she who has no name"?????????

I met Sheryl once. She isn't glamorous (neither am I ) but she looked better than that picture. She was nice. We talked about Rodney and she let me pet him.

I am sorry. I shouldn't be here.
I have never cared about this---it is none of my business, but I think he needs more experienced music people involved with his career. And what about the heart and soul of the music? It isn't there, that pure joy he used to have. I don't want to call him a sell-out, but I think he is lost. I never expected to see him with a glamorous type. I always thought he would be with more of an earthy, wise, zen-like, even funky woman, maybe an artist. I think a business relationship should be just that, a business relationship! I don't know or care who he has dated, but this is a totally inappropriate relationship. I am simply disappointed in him and his issues with sex and boundaries [if they are together]. He needs help. [not in a bad way, but from those who are suppose to look out for him.] -------------------- Peace and Love

Whoa. How do you know so much? He needs help? His relationship w/Sheryl is inappropriate? How do you know all this? Do any of us really know the real reason the new CD isn't out there yet? He wrote all the songs, (he said that ages ago), they are ready to go... So, it isn't so much inspiration as other issues, I'm sure.
Oh and another thing. Maybe he is going through that stage known as MID-LIFE Crisis. Many of us are going through, have gone through, or will go through it when we turn 50! Yes, you are right. I don't know.
I have read enough from what you all say about him on this board to make these assumptions. I simply adore the man and want the best for him. I have been a fan for over twenty years. I can wait for another CD until he is good and ready. No big deal. I do know about the mid-life crisis thing---it happens to all of us; however, from what you all say, she is the "manager" and you all have implied in multiple threads they are "together" and sleeping together. I don't care how nice she is, you do not sleep with your business people---period.period.period. These are professional and ethical boundaries. I am sorry if I have upset you. -------------------- Peace and Love

Everyday I bust my ass for people I don't know or could care less about. It's crazy to think I wouldn't work twice as hard for someone I cared and loved. We spend more time at work then with our own families. Seems like a great partnership - both are doing the best for each other - perfect job if you ask me.

I agree. Sheryl has been his manager how long now? I think she has done a pretty good job providing him steady employment. He had his own show, nice PBS specials, guest appearances, overseas gigs, etc. And as far as personal, Good for them if they are a couple. Nothing wrong with it. He seems pretty happy to me.

No disrespect intended; however, almost everyone on this board is outside looking in. We can only speculate about what is going on. Most entertainers need someone to look after them and once they can afford it, hire people to do that. They are not usually business people -- they are artists and their job is to perform. The artist does not book gigs and press, keep the wardrobe in shape, make travel arrangements and watch the books. They probably can't even get to a place on time without help. That is a manager's job (and all the agents who help them). We all agree that Chris has certainly earned the right to all the help he needs. Then he can concentrate on making beautiful music. It's fun to wonder about he and his manager's relationship -- and it's not nice to speculate about why she doesn't do all the things everyone thinks she should. We know that they spend a lot of time together while working. We don't know everything she does or everything they do together -- we know very little -- just that she is seen with him and usually where she is, so is Rodney! Rodney is almost as cute as Chris!

This is the kind of thing that offen happens when a person there for business crosses the line and becomes more interested in landing the personal relationship. It's like a manager with this kind of conflict of interest is not likely to do what is best for the client but what is best for the manager. This is why ChrisRocks is so right in our opinion, you do not sleep with your business people, around for that specific excuse/purpose, not for being there to cover the lonliness or sex relief needs of a client so as to become emotionally involved because there goes the best interests of the client for sure! Even though some manager's and clients do find real attraction, love/marriage, and redefine things that way, most are just attempts in unreal situations. i.e. Bowie announced he will no longer have a manager and doesn't need one after looking back and seeing "they were in it for as much as they could take." Not specifically for CI's staff situation, but as an example, Bowie said "look under a rock and you'll find a manager." Artists have to be so careful with all the gracious "helpers" offering their assistance and selfless "allegiance." Like Chris Rocks, I am sorry if this upsets some of you, I dont mean to. But like CR, I am an ardent fan who wants to see the best for CI in every area of his life. As it is, it looks like his present manager is blocking the possibility of a real love relationship happening for chris again and what all fans and chris want and need is more real love songs, both high and low, from chris when he is really in love. We're hoping for chris' future real love and happiness and all the best for him. Don't mean to offend anyone here. |

I am sorry, but I just don't understand all this about Sheryl? Is Chris not a grown up and able to say - no? Everyone marks Sheryl as the controlling manager?? Maybe She and Chris are old friends and so what if more? Face it, he had ONE big hit. When people hear of Chris Isaak, they think of "Wicked Games." She is trying to get him "out there." (after his show took him out of the spot light for 3 years)with new fans in various ways. I know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. But I just don't see Sheryl as such a villain. And I think he is a man and if not happy could say NO.
