I have to agree with Shadow. Really, fans on this board should be very careful about their moral judgments and personal opinions. Too much speculation and opinions about the private lives of our favorite band could lead them to be even more careful. unsure.gif Right now, we have a lot of access to CI and the rest of the guys. They don't keep the rock star profile [yet] with an entourage and body guards. They come out after the shows, shake hands with us and even hug us. Kenney keeps us posted about the goings on. They are willing to talk to everyone and are very friendly. Most rockers play the show and leave the venue. Let's not ruin the accessibility and friendliness by making them wary and fearful. Please, let's enjoy what we have and keep it that way.

I am sorry, but I just don't understand all this about Sheryl? Is Chris not a grown up and able to say - no? Everyone marks Sheryl as the controlling manager?? Maybe She and Chris are old friends and so what if more? Face it, he had ONE big hit. When people hear of Chris Isaak, they think of "Wicked Games." She is trying to get him "out there." (after his show took him out of the spot light for 3 years)with new fans in various ways. I know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. But I just don't see Sheryl as such a villain. And I think he is a man and if not happy could say NO.

Oh, I love all this cloak and dagger stuff! I know something you don't know....... rolleyes.gif

Actually, I like to keep my image of the band as accessible, friendly, and great entertainers intact. Who they date or don't doesn't affect my love of their music and the shows. Ignorance really might be bliss!

As long as I get to say 'Hi' after the show and get to chat for awhile at the M&G, I am a happy little Vegemite. smile.gif Mind you, I do wish Bonnie B would die a natural death, so three more songs could be added to the shows.

The 'fact' that CI&S are known for one 'Hit song' says a lot more about the general public than their talent. The Paparazzi going on about non-talents like Britney - hell she can't even remember her undies or the words to her own songs - and Paris is why I don't buy mags anymore. Wish the news reports would leave them alone too. Tired of hitting the remote everytime these non-talents get TV time. (Britney's exploits mean I just about walk around at home holding the remote incase I have to 'shoot the TV'.)

Thank Goddess, we can spot talent when we see talent. cool.gif

I still think that he's married. He just acts like the married type to me. He says he's shy, maybe & then again it could be just a coy to make us think otherwise. But like someone else said, even if he's married, he shouldn't be afraid of it hurting his career. Actually I feel sorry for him especially if that's the case. He's an extremely good looking man. He said he's gotten hurt before. I've gotten hurt before, and it's very hard to trust again. But like I said, I still think he's married.

Married or not.....That is his business. And I am not going to stop buying a Chris Isaak & Silvertone CD because he got married.

I just go to the show, buy the CD, have a chat and enjoy it all. smile.gif

I must just like to be entertained! unsure.gif

I hope the paparrazi never discover CI and the band. I think he has a nice gig going between acting, singing, shows, and etc. I would hate for him too get too popular in the mainstream press if it would decrease the quality of his life. I think he has a great CV and will be writing and singing and making music for a very long, long time to come. cool.gif

I do remember an interview he had a few years ago & was asked who took care of his dog while he was gone? He said his mom does. Apparently that has changed & I'm glad he takes his dog with him a lot. I wouldn't be able to leave my baby behind all the time like that! The poor thing probably misses him.

Well, let's thank Goddess that the Paparazzi are basically imbeciles with no idea of what 'talent' looks like or sounds like or should act like! cool.gif

I'm sure if someone really wanted to pry into his personnel life to find out if he's married or not, they could, and I'm not the physco type or stalker type. I've heard that most men don't really fantasize about the glamorous type women, they like the more down to earth everyday type women. Could this Sheryl be this type?

Yeah, you know what? Who really gives a shit what he does in his life
off stage and out of the public eye???????Married or not. mad.gif

The man looks fabulous, sings fabulously, has a yarn with whoever will
yarn with him,is just an all-round fabulous kinda guy and has a
fabulous band to boot,so just enjoy all of that and leave the poor dude
to his own life.

If people want to get on here and act like they know him...well good
on em.If they want to spread bollocks, let em.

We as devoted CI&S fans should just enjoy what they do for a living
and leave after hours as such.

Hi, Rodney is Sheryl's dog. She has had him for 9 years (She mentioned this at a M&G). That's one of the things people have noticed that seem to connect Chris to Sheryl. It does seem at times that Rodney is more like his dog too.

At a M & G in December 2005, I asked Sheryl how old Rodney was and she said 2. That would make him 4 now.
BTW, that's Rodney with me in my avatar.

Undiscovered? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he super huge in Australia and Europe? Plus the tv series on Showtime and VH1. I think Sheryl and Rodney have done their job extremely well and with class. Paparazzi look for celebs that are doing something crude and wrong - that's not CI&Silvertone.

Well maybe the Paparazzi aren't huge in Australia! That is what 'Undiscovered' referred too in the posts re OZ. Otherwise, CI&S might not bother to drive down the Tulla - for shows in Melbourne - whilst being pursued by 1,000 crazy photographers!!!!

Obviously, the General Public with a taste for good music have discovered Chris Isaak and Silvertone, or they wouldn't make the long flight Down Under every two years or so.

And he might be 'Super Huge' in Europe, but hasn't it been ages between visits? Any European fans care to clarify this? rolleyes.gif I do know we are the Lucky Country in terms of frequent CI&S visits compared to Europe.

Is Rodney working the room too? We don't get to see the Rodstar in OZ. Quarantine issues! unsure.gif

Chris has built up a fan base here over the twelve years since his first visit. He goes down well, we like him and I think the feeling is mutual. He's done a lot of TV and radio and his sense of humour translates very, very well here.

His live shows have had great reviews, apart from one or two exceptions and even those comments that were not 100% complimentary were constructive criticism.

I think Chris will be welcomed with open arms any time he decides to visit downunder. It wouldn't hurt for him to have a new CD to plug though. I think that is a big issue and he really needs something out there very, very soon if he's going to still appeal to the younger brigade. Someone like me turning up at concerts is not going to help his cause, much as I hate to admit it smile.gif

But, talent WILL out. It's a year today since his first Melbourne show of the last tour. God, I wish he was here now ... anything to get the attention away from the bloody pollies! What a load of dingbats. I will decline to name the dingbats and unattractive peoples that get up my nostrils. As I have been told countless times ... just shut the f*** up. Yeah!

I hate to say it but Chris is not super huge in Europe. Well, at least not in the Netherlands that's for sure. ( I believe he's a little bigger in France) Of course he has fans, but most people think he is a one hit wonder. They think he stopped making music after Wicked Game. He did have succes in '93 with san francisco days and can't do a thing to stop me, but that's also a long time ago. In the Netherlands we never hear anything about Chris, no articles in magazines, no interviews or performances on tv..
His concerts last April though (12 years after his last concert in the Netherlands), in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, were a succes. I heard a lot of people say that it was the best they ever went to. So it's possible to be huge here, I don't understand why he's not trying. I don't know if it's Sheryl or maybe he's okay with not being a superstar all around the globe. I like Sheryl by the way, I met her briefly in Paris, very nice person.

Here in the USA Chris is not super huge. Most people I know have kind of heard of him, but don't really know much about him or his music. He is well enough known that he gets a solid, if not quite sold-out, show every summer in at least one, if not more than one, venue in my area.

It works out great for me. I get to go to one or two shows every summer and have a blast. Chris and his band members are not such huge stars that they get whisked away after the concert. I stay and chat with Kenney, Roly, Hershel and Scott, once also Sheryl and Rodney, and briefly get to talk to AND TOUCH Chris. It's my fun fantasy summer moment(s)!! Isn't that all we need??? wub.gif wub.gif
