Does anyone know the story behind this one? I'm sure it's probably been discussed elsewhere but I haven't really read anything much to do with CI&S since Hablo Diablo folded.
So, how did the seller get hold of it? She's in San Francisco and it looks like her name is Karen. Did Chris sell it to her, or did someone sell it on his behalf? That would be such a cool guitar to own, wouldn't it? Even if the only thing you can play is a CD player, and you even have problems with that, like moi http://cgi.ebay.com/CHRIS-ISAAK-1966-Vox-1...8QQcmdZViewItem |

It would be cool to own, but there's a reason that there's zero bids on it. 6200 bucks is wayyy too much money for a guitar.
I'm always hesitant to buy stuff like this off of ebay. Awhile ago, there was a Gretsch White Falcon (expensive guitar) on ebay, autographed by Chris Cheney and the rest of the Living End...there were even pictures of him with the guitar. It was advertised as "Chris Cheney's White Falcon" and really expensive. It came up on the guitar forum i'm part of, and one of the guys knew Chris Cheney and sent off an email. Turned out the seller was a girl who'd one a contest to meet the Living End, and win a White Falcon autographed by the band. Within 10 minutes, it was off ebay, when TLE's manager posted that although it was autographed, Chris had never played it. A similar situation came up (another Gretsch)...a guy brought it to a Brian Setzer show, it was custom painted, and Brian said, "that's a cool guitar", played it for about 12 seconds, guy took a picture, and it was on ebay as "A Setzer Original!" A 1000 dollar guitar for 10K. I'd be hesitant. (Long winded way to say it, i know. ) -------------------- Hear me? I said Action Packed!

I have seen that Ebay listing before and I also agree that $6200 is way too expensive for a guitar. I wonder whatever became of that guitar.

Are the Living End really popular there? I posted a pic for FifiKitty a while back of Chris with the band, when he was out here a couple of months back. |

That's one unusual-looking guitar...what shape would you call that? Hexagon?? I had no idea guitars came in so many shapes and sizes! As for the band mentioned 'The Living End' - I saw a reference to them elsewhere on this site. Am I the only one who's never heard of them??

The sad fact is, you get a music store where musicians tend to drop by, somebody signs something, and you've got to mortgage your home to get it. As for the Living End, i wouldn't say that they're really popular here.. they played a couple of weeks ago, headlining, but the club was fairly small. It was a great time though, i'd like to see them back here more often, but i'd be surprised if there were more than 600 people there. -------------------- Hear me? I said Action Packed!

I also haven't heard of the band-The Living End. I wonder if they will come tour anywhere in the USA. I did see their site on this board mentioned.

I saw the guy with the guitar at the show, too, on Saturday night. Things are just getting way out of hand with people wanting items signed and turning around and selling them on EBay. It's not fair to the artist. I've never sold anything I've had signed. It's for me to treasure.

After checking around, that Vox guitar is worth about 1000 bucks in the condition it's in. If it was actually used on the Heart-Shaped World album, it would be worth a bit more, but there's no way to confirm that without hearing directly from Chris himself. It's a cool little instrument, looks like it's authentically signed, but i don't know...6000 + dollars is a little ridiculous.

Mark, I also agree that $6200 is a bit too much for a guitar on Ebay. I don't understand how anybody could afford to buy that at an auction.
