Is there anyone out here in Isaakland who would be able to record this concert for me on CD? I have numerous live Isaak shows I could trade in exchange.
Having this show on CD would make a great gift for my wife. Or I may use it in the future as a "Get out of the doghouse" free card, in the event that I screw up something down the road, which is bound to happen because I'm married guy and married guys almost always screw someting up at some point during the year. (Last year I forgot about a NYE party, so I was in the doghouse right from the get go!)
I'll be out of town from Dec 30 (9 AM) to Jan 1 (evening). So if you send me a note during those times, I won't be able to respond until after the First.
THANKS!
(I also posted this message on the the other thread about the live show; sorry for the cross post. The system wouldn't let me delete the other post. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I couldn't delete it.)

Let's hope that Chris and Silvertone and all our friends on here that are going to Aspen arrive safely.
And enjoy a sensational show.
And get home safely.
So that we may all get to enjoy a review or two.

Yeah....where are those lazy concert goers? They should be up and writing reviews for the rest of us. It's past 10 a.m. EST.....that's 8 a.m. their time (I think). It's not like they were up late or anything. (just kidding!) Anyone have a review? Anyone? Bueller?

I am sure they are drunk or at least drinking?! This is a normal thing on the 4th of July, and NYE. Living in the country is always interesting! I am listening to the concert again and it sounds really good!
There were songs that I had never heard before also. Like "Judy" (my sister's name), and the Nyquil song and a couple others that I can't think of right now.

Here's the Set List with a paraphrase of other things Chris said during the broadcast. It was pretty much the same set list as the shows in 2006, but, fortunately, Chris added 4 more songs (not counting "Believe What You Say" and "Auld Lang Syne" which were already expected):
1. Lonely w/a Broken Heart
Chris said "Let's go Scotty!" before Scott's solo
2. Let's Have a Party
When Chris sang "everyone needs a friend" he said "yes they do, Roly"
3. Let Me Down Easy
Chris had some trouble hitting the high note on the "pleeeease"
***
Talk: Chris did the usual spiel about how last night's show was a warm-up & this one was going to be filthy.
Then he said Kenney's family are seers and asked Kenney for his predictions for 2007.
Kenney said they'll be coming back to Aspen a lot more times before the end of the year.
Chris then said, "Gimme a microphone... I'll work the crowd... This is how I work my tips..." I imagine this part is the usual part where Chris, Scott and Raphael walk through the audience for "Return to Me"
***
4. Return to Me
***
Talk: Chris said, "This is Hershel's showcase piece..." Talked about how the rest of them got fat during the holidays and, going through Aspen, Hershel asked whether he could find a fancy leather belt with beads and such in Aspen (they're a common item for sale there).
***
5. Speak of the Devil
6. Somebody's Crying
Chris, show-offy, said "Excuse me, watch this" before successfully singing the high part at the very end.
7. Wicked Game
After which Chris said, the usual "Get up, here comes the rock 'n' roll part!"
8. Go Walkin' Down There
The keyboards were extra-60s-psychedelic during this one! Yay!
9. One Day
Started off with a really cool, buzzy guitar intro and Chris emitted a sexier, breathier-than-usual "gimme one day" during the bridge. Purrr...
10. I Want You to Want Me
Sorry, Scotty, but the keyboards were a little too chirpy and annoying during the intro.
Fortunately, Scotty finally toned it down and they keyboards awesomely sounded a little bit like Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense & Peppermints" during the "Put on my shirt.." part. Much better...
11. 5:15 (Partial and instrumental only)
12. Waiting (Chris solo acoustic)
13. Two Hearts
14. "Except the New Girl"
transitioning to:
15. Graduation Day
transitioning to:
16. Can't Do a Thing to Stop Me
17. Judy
Chris said "Don't show off" to Hershel during some countryfried guitar playing by Hershel.
***
Talk: Chris acknowledged that they were "on the radio" and jokingly said they had to play a "tight, professional set" and not veer from the setlist too much and therefore could not take requests. Someone shouted "Dark Moon" and Chris went right into... yup, you guessed it:
***
18. Dark Moon
Chris had to ask (as he usually does) Roly, "What key?" Chis asked, "In A, Roly?"
***
Talk: Chris said he loved doing this show because they're on the radio and could make Kenney a star, so he had Kenney sing "Nyquil Blues." Chris said women cuddle up and cry to Kenney due to the meaningful words. Chris asked Kenney, "You're on Nyquil right now, aren't you?" Kenney replied "Yes" and coughed a fake, but wet, loogie-sounding cough. Gross!
***
19. Nyquil Blues
***
Talk: Chris said "If you're bootleggin', tonight's a good night." Chris then said he met someone in SF, and it takes a lot to get him off couch, but he finagled his way backstage to meet this person - and this person just passed away. Chris said to Kenney "Let's play it real pretty" and launched into James' Brown's "I'll Go Crazy."
***
20. "I'll Go Crazy"
After one "I love you too much," Chris said "Yeah, I do" -- muy sexy, Papi!
***
Talk: At the end of "I'll Go Crazy," Chris said "Notice Kenney pounding his way into your house... he just gave you an 'Aspen dry pounding'!"
Chris then mentioned the Belly Up in Aspen was a nice place to play because "everyone is on top of one another... it usually takes a couple hours for everyone to be on top of on another..."
Then Chris went into his bit about meeting Roy Orbison, and how Roly explained how Roy had more than just a flashy suit, that Roy had talent.
Chris said how nice Roy was backstage and how some artists aren't, and how you just want to stick 'em with a "rusty nail" to which Kenney, on cue, said he knew the feeling.
***
21. Only the Lonely
22. Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing
Chris intro'd it by saying "You bad people who did bad things this last year... let's forgive everything until 12 o'clock tomorrow."
Chris called "Over here, Roly!" before singing "You ever love somebody so much your heart was gonna break in two" to which Roly replied, "No sir!" and Chris said "You have to bail her out!"
Chris then did the usual trailer home bit, talking about Aspen trailer homes... saying "I'm home, Honey-Bunny!" and how the Chris Isaak concert sucked ("sucked!")... but hearing noises upon entering the trailer (Chris made high "female" noises, after which he said you hear your girlfriend make noises too) and then see something sparkly and bouncing... and it's a 4 string sparkly bass guitar... and then you put yourself into a corner making wallets (another reference to Aspen and the leather goods it has for sale)... but then hear a man in a whispery, little voice saying "Hi ho, giddyup!"
BDABBT transitioned to:
23. Don't Be Cruel
24. Gone Ridin'
***
Talk: The "Nacho Libre" skit in Spanish introducing Kenney who kicks off "Super Magic 2000"
***
25. Super Magic 2000
***
Talk: Chris calls a man onstage (prolly Doug) who has a "watch accurate within 15 seconds... per week!" and then they count down to midnight.
You hear laughing, and Chris says "Goodnight, there's nothing more to see" and can hear Scott's distinct laugh and Kenney saying "that's French [inaudible]" and Chris says to Scott put that bottle back down on the keyboard and try and act responsible. Sounds like Scott had a bottle of champagne on his keyboards from which he took an exaggerated swig.
***
26. Goin' Nowhere
27. Auld Lang Syne
28. Believe What You Say
29. Blue Hotel
30. San Francisco Days
Chris sings "Shakin' Aspen Days, Shakin' Aspen Nights" also says he brought the only Cuban boy in Aspen (reference to Raphael). Then says, "Come on, Kenney, we're not done."
31. Bonnie B.
In the middle, Chris says "Come over here, Princess, hiding out!" and said what he likes about show business is that he gets to find new talent in show business.
Asks the girl the usual "are you a professional dancer?" line. And someone other girl interrupted and Chris said "Look at the bottom of bottle, it says 'Don't take 'em all, Crazy!' "
The original girl answered Chris that her name was Emily. Chris said Emily was his bass player's middle name, and also said "Who's your Daddy?" and made the "it's from the traditional Gaelic greeting" joke.
When Chris asked Emily to dance, Emily asked, "Can I pretend I'm naked?"
Chris said pretending he's naked works for him, but maybe not for others. Chris asked audience to take their clothes off to make Emily feel more comfortable. After she danced, Chris remarked, "That's beautiful! From the back, it was like watching 2 kids fighting in a tent!" (I think Chris was referring to her bust area?!)
32. Blue Spanish Sky
Chris said, "You're a great audience... it's supposed to be the end of show... I just wanna keep playing... gimme my 'electrical' guitar!"
33. Blue Moon of Kentucky
34. Dancin'
Before the song, Chris asked, "Kenney, hit 'Dancin' 'will ya?"
And before he sang the last note, Chris said "Deep breath here!"
35. Blue Moon
During the very high "vocalise" part in the bridge, Chris jokingly said "everybody now!"
36. American Boy
Chris asked Kenney, "Wanna try 'American Boy'? I think I remember it! Let's just start it! Roly, E? I'll find it..." Once again, Chris asks Roly what key a song is in.
This time, Scott really grooved on the keyboards, the keyboard part here sounded like T. Rex's "Bang A Gong"! Way cool!
Chris introduced Scott as Scott "Plinkett" Plunkett who's "out on parole," and Hershel "with a name like Yatovitz, it's gotta be good" and once again made reference to Kenney's psychic abilities as calling "Kenney, the man who sees the future."
Chris then introduced himself as "I'm Ricky Nelson" (which I didn't find very funny, after reading about Ricky Nelson and what happened on NYE on the boards).
And then Chris said the usual about their being available for autographs and "free, physical examinations" after the show ("we're not doctors... it won't hurt if you don't tense up.")
And before Sirius ended the program you could hear the first word "Whoa..." from Dion's "The Wanderer" which I also read about on the boards.

I have the show saved. Its a 100meg file. I'm listening right now to be sure its in tact. It sounds sooooo good and the guys were great! I listened to most last night, but had to wear headphones and took them off sometimes. I never heard any buffering, but I want to make sure. I'm gonna record again this afternoon in WAV, the file I did last night is HQ mp3. I'll get them uploaded to Sendspace once I figure that out. I'm not going to break it into tracks because I like to listen without the track breaks when its a live show, but there are many free programs to slice it for those who wanna do that. Happy New Year!
You little ripper CalicoSkies!! I've been frigging around here for ages looking at ways to record Sirius in 8 hours time, without downloading a suspect program, and without waking up anyone else at 9 in the morning (Oz). Problem solved. Thanks heaps for that, and Happy New Year to you too!

Yowser! Thanks so much, Anon ~ GREAT and thorough run-down of the Aspen show. Much appreciated!

That'll have to do for this little black duck, because of being on throw-up (oh sorry, make that DIAL-up!); making it impossible to hear those broadcasts or d/load them even when they're done (100 mgs worth?!

) But, I've had a damn good run of Isaak goodies over the past couple of months, so I ain't complaining.

When I get my act together I'll try and put something together on the Aussie 'On Tour with Chris' documentary.
Happy New Year to you too Cheryl. If all this downloading and uploading goes to plan, I am sure we can work something out!

Well, I'm glad I got the live broadcast recorded because Siruis cut off the last song (American Boy) from the rebroadcast. The good news is that the rebroadcast also has no drop out in Only The Lonely. The file is huge tho, I can't even upload to sendspace. I'm only allowed to upload 300meg and this file is 1.04gig.
