Does anyone know enough about the music business to know why CI does not release a live CD?

Because no one, other than us, will buy it.

Well, he still could release one, one day. For years people wondered if he was going to release a 'best of' and he finally got around to it, so a live album could still see the light of day in the future. I know I read once in one of his interviews where he joked about it, saying that he has a lot of his shows taped, just in case he ever got hit by a bus there'd be enough material to do a posthumous (sp?! ) one.

(btw, speaking of the 'Best of' here's a belated Christmas present for Chris - his album re-entered the top 20 chart down here in Aus. over Christmas and got as high as No. 15 again...it's currently sitting pretty at 19.)

What do Australians know that my fellow countrymen don't!?! Perhaps Isaak should emigrate!

There's so many aspects or directions to go in the Entertainment industry. CI&S have always done LIVE MUSIC. He's done NUMEROUS LIVE performances on T.V. and RADIO. He's done three (3) PBS SOUNDSTAGE performances. Those were all LIVE - just like the show you buy a ticket to in your home town - but with a better view of him.
Anyone with a VCR or CASSETTE RECORDER have recorded their own personal copies of CI&S live. Two of the Soundstage shows are available for purchase RIGHT NOW (factor in shipping and handling).
He's performed his biggest hit Wicked Game LIVE on T.V. several times. He's performed several of his RARE songs LIVE on the CHRIS ISAAK SHOW (which you could have recorded if you are a fan).
He's constantly on tour in various parts of the U.S. He released LIVE version of the song Forever Blue (one of my personal favorites and superb example of his songwriting abilitiy).

So what more do you want that isn't already out there?

P.S. (Personally, I'm waiting for a made-for-t.v.-move of his life showing a live performance of DANCING in his shower!)
