If it an HD DVD player, you can still play regular dvds. You just don't have as much clarity.
If they ever come out with the Chris Isaak show (which I recall was shot partially in HD), it should be a treat to watch.
Since Blue Ray and HD units are still kinda expensive here in the states (and I'm still not totally sold on either format yet), I was a cheap bas**** and bought the 2 bill add-on for my X-box 360 (so as not to have to pay the extra 900 smackers for a complete new HD or Blue Ray system) and it works really nice.
It's sort of like a portable hard drive and you just plug it into your gaming system. AND, for all you dolls that have kids with and X-box 360 (you can get the HD add on) or for those of you *especially generous* gals that bought each one of your kids a PS3, you can (automatically) play your Blue Rays (lucky you) on there too.
You rock, UP...I just wanted to let you know that. You are always so helpful and sweet to everyone. There should be more people around like you!!
