wanted to introduce myself.
I just became a fan. I saw Chris and Stevie Nicks in albuquerque. I went for Stevie, I left with a crush.

I want to know some basic stuff about him, and just generally want to know what you guys suggest in terms of music.

Welcome aboard. My favorite is Speak of the Devil. I am sure everyone will give a different opinion so you might as well just order them all now.

Bottom line, is ya have to get them all. There isn't a mediocre CD of the bunch in my book. They are all very different and cool.

Apologies if you already know this, but I see that you went to the concert to see Stevie Nicks, so you may not know that Chris always comes out at the end of his concerts to meet his fans and sign merchandise in the foyer. Just a little tip in case you ever go to another CI concert!

I knew that. Before I got BANNED from Seven Wonders I figured that out. But i was tired at the end!!!! I regret it. I can't wait to go to another show and meet him!

Wow, no one has mentioned it but don't miss the Silvertone album if you can find it. I had it on cassette and the baby destroyed it and I haven't looked for a new one yet but it's great! Sorry to say I disagree with most and I think that Always Got Tonight is definitely mediocre. I'd say make it your last priority!

It is. He's done so well to keep collecting more fans in spite of it I think I've played it 2 and a half times in five years.

p.p.s. Love San Francisco Days followed so closely by Baja Sesssions, Forever Blue and even closer by the rest with Always Got Tonight bringing up the rear. Like he'd be stuffed what I think!!

Well, I think the whole saying went "Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ". I'm no great mind (oh brother, ain't that the truth haha!) and you're certainly no fool I like reading what you have to say and often smile because some things I would have said myself but I chickened out. Let's leave that as cryptic.

I have heard this a lot about "Always Got Tonight". What is it that is mediocre? The writing, the music or what? I like most of the songs on the album, maybe not as much as some other albums, but I still don't understand the criticism of it either.

I like this one...I like "Let me down easy" and also "American Boy"

I LOVE hearing "American Boy"...it reminds me of that grand entrance Chris makes on stage as he opened with this song at the last 2 concerts I've attended in the last month...(May 23, 2007 in San Diego) and (June 23, 2007...Temecula, CA). And I get that tingle feeling remembering that my heart rate speeds up at this song that he opened up with and comes out on stage for the start of the show!

I like "CooL Love" too....they play that at my work all the time at my retail establishment....and when I hear it at work...I sing along!

Maybe it's because it's not the favorite of most out there....but I still like it!

Kathy, IMO it's both. Not one single song on it except one that I don't even remember the name of cause I haven't listened to the albun in so long moved me even remotely, and I am about the most adoring Isaak fan ever. Compared to what we have all heard him record, it sucks. If that had been the first time I'd heard him, I'd never have been interested enough to listen again I think. i'll give it another listen though as soon as I can extract it from our piles of "media in transit". My theory is that he was just stretched way too thin while filming his TV show to have ample opportunity for true inspiration or creativity to come along and move him but he had to fulfill the contractual obligation with his label so that's what came out. But I think it's his only "miss" out of all his albums so that tells you he's DAMN GOOD! Some don't like SOTD much but the song in particular is one of my favorites I've ever heard him sing, write, record, perform, etc. Just sends me into a trance practically...

GAWWD I love it.

I love all of CI's music. I can't really say which album I love the most because I don't listen to albums per se. I have all of his music on my Ipod Shuffle and therefore don't really know what song comes from what album. I listen to CI&S every night while at work. I haven't listened to a radio station in over two years. It was September 1995 when I first discovered Chris Isaak and Silvertone on the Soundstage special. Since then, I have bought all of his music, tape all the interviews and TV shows with him on it as possible. I have also been to one concert and hope to go to many a more. My kids think I am a Chris Isaak fanatic, but I don't mind.

I wanted to add here that they did a few, or at least a couple, of songs from AGT at the Saratoga show I went to and the arrangement was very simple and what do you know, they really sounded beautiful. No instrumentation except keyboard (piano) and all the guys sang harmony with Chis. In fact, Life Will Go on was the one song that I meant I actually had liked before and that's one they did. I think also Worked it Out Wrong and those 2 sounded very different and downright great with that treatment.
