I drove to Michigan yesterday to see a show with Stray Cats, The Pretenders and ZZ Top.
First off, it was well worth the cash (about 60 CAD and a longass drive) to see the Cats. Unfortunately, as the opener, they only played for 40 friggin' minutes. They were also pushed to the front of the stage, without a lot of room to rock out. The good news is that they made the best of their time, and blew the other bands off of the stage as far as energy goes. Set list as i remember it was
RUMBLE IN BRIGHTON
RUNAWAY BOYS
GENE AND EDDIE
SEXY AND 17
FISHNET STOCKINGS
STRAY CAT STRUT
BLAST OFF
ROCK THIS TOWN
ENCORE:
I FOUGHT THE LAW.
they were maybe not in that exact order, kinda hazy on the middle. Anyway, they played great, but like I said, too short. It was kinda disheartening to see The Pretenders (I HATE the Pretenders...sorry to any fans) and Chrissie Hynde's haircut and knee-high suede boots (while rambling on about the ethical treatment of animals) play for an HOUR.
ZZ Top were decent, but i'm not that much of a fan...they played well, they had cool guitars, and i liked their beards. Nifty.
Sorry about the lack of pictures.....we sat on the lawn.
All in all, it was worth it....I saw Stray Cats play, now i can die happily.
