The Chris Isaak Hour - It's Biography meets Storytellers. This live performance and interview show will explore the lives of mainstream musical artists by allowing them to tell their life stories through the music they've created, the songs and artists that inspired them and the relationships they forged along their path to success. Hosted by music star, Chris Issak, each episode will bring guest's stories to life as viewers discover the experiences and influences which helped mold them into the person and performer they are today. Chris delivers major music credibility to the show. His intelligent, thoughtful and sometimes irreverent conversation style interviews will put his guests at ease. Inter-cut throughout the interview segments will be exclusive live performances of featured guests shot at an intimate venue.

The Chris Isaak Hour is produced by Scott Sternberg Productions with Scott Sternberg as executive producer. Executive producers for Bio Channel are Robert Sharenow and Tom Moody.

This kind of freaks me out. About six months ago I had a dream that I worked for PBS and got Chris to do a show like this and it was called "Chris Isaak's Having a Party". The idea was so much like the above. So weird! Now if I could just foresee some winning lotto numbers!

I don't think he even taped any episodes. I'm figuring that he'll start doing them in the Fall after the tour. I checked my cable system and luckily I do get Bio. Yay!!

That is so cool on the Bio channel that there will be a show called "Chris Isaak Hour". Unfortunately on my tv, I don't get the Bio channel. I will have to check my other tv this weekend. Thanks for the info about it though.

I get 3 channels on a normal day and one or two more when the wind is blowing right. Guess I will have to catch it when I go to Jersey for a visit. Now if they would just add a Jersey date to the tour, or Upstate, or Niagra Falls, or Philly, or Harrisburg... geez I am not asking for Ithaca or anything.

Wow, Finally something good on TV!

The Bio Channel is also called the A & E Channel; well it is in this part of the country (New England). I'll even stay up past my bedtime if I have to!!

We can always console ourselves with memories of Salamanca.

I'm pretty sure A&E is the parent channel....and bio is the one you have to buy.

At one time didn't someone mention Isaak researching/making a movie highlighting Roy Orbison? Maybe it was for the Bio Channel and not a full feature film.

Yes, I remember that. I thought it was a film about Roy. Maybe that one's on the back burner. Chris is always doing so many things at once.

I checked my other TV this weekend to see if I have the Biography channel & I do. I'm looking forward to watching "The Chris Isaak Hour" on there when it premieres.

I can relate to your dream about Chris. I have always been a big fan, but he had never been featured in my dreams. Then about 4 mos ago I woke up after having a dream that I had met him and interviewed him. (I'd been doing a little freelancing for a couple papers at the time) I live in NL where I never dreamed he'd ever come. Flash ahead and who is coming to town but CI himself. Then I meet him in the after show autograph line, and speak with him briefly. Not quite an interview, but I feel like I had a premonition. Bizarre. I am hoping I dream he's coming back tonight, LOL. My husband said we should have invited him back for brunch at the house..maybe I'll throw that in too.

I can't wait to see who he's guests will be. Elvis Costello has a very similar type of show that starts in December on the Sundance Channel. He's been taping shows in New York the past few weeks. He's had guests like Elton John, Jacob Dylan, Bill Clinton and this week he's taping James Taylor. At the end of the interview they jam! I hope Chris has that on his show, too!

I got all giddy when he mentioned Stevie Nicks as an example guest.

Anyway... After listening to Chris in multiple interviews, I doubt that Miss Tina will be on the show either. But!!! Wouldn't that make an interesting segment if she did appear?

Can someone please tell me what I missed? I guess I've missed "multiple" interviews on the subject...but no one answered me. Can someone fill me in?

Chris was on tour with Miss Tina and mentioned in several interviews that she did not acknowledge the band or him. He has respect for her but she did not have much respect for them (my own thought). That was all.

Apparently she treats all of her opening acts that way, I've heard this before from someone else. Very strange!

Yes, apparently that is the word about Tina Turner. Chris was interviewed the summer after the tour with Tina Turner (somewhere around 1993) and very diplomatically said this:

Q: I have heard that during your recent tour, when you were opening for Tina Turner, Tina's people didn't talk to you, that there was this kind of wall between you. What happened?

CHRIS: It wasn't only me. Someone said she'd worked with Robert Cray and she never said boo to him either. And then I heard that Aaron Neville worked with her and was upset because she didn't speak to him either. I don't know, maybe she's just shy. I'd been out on the road with Bonnie Raitt before and that spoiled me. going out with her...to me, it was like having a sexy sister who teased me. she was real funny. Sexy. She's one of the guys. Know what I mean?

....But in all fairness: Tina, I don't know what she's been through, I just heard she had some worries about security. I met her one time in a radio station in a hallway, and I've got to say, she was the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. Real friendly. She's real pretty. I don't know how old she is. People tell me she's over 50 and she looks just fantastic. She looks like guys should be chasing her.

Lately, however, I think that Chris is starting to realize that Tina could have at least said "hi" to him during the tour, if only once. Chris is so far removed from that type of "I'm the star and you're the opener mentality" that he would not to do that to his opening acts. Ask James Hunter or Brandi Carlile what it was like to open for Chris and they'll tell you there could not be a more generous guy to open for.

BUT.........back on track, now.....who do you think Chris will interview? Michael Buble? Brandi Carlile?

I can't find any mention of the show airing in the BIO Channel listings...when will we see this new program? I searched the BIO channel program listing for any reference to CI...nothing came up. DMH

Well, one of my predictions came true. Michael Buble was taping this week for The Chris Isaak Hour. That should be a great show! The episodes are sounding really good so far.

okay, here's some light at the end of the tunnel....it's a WEIRD light but it made me happy.


At the same they announced "The Chris Isaak Hour" the announced "Shatner's Raw Nerve" which is supposed to be out around the same time as Isaaky's show.

I saw a commercial for Shatner's Raw Nerve.


So we're getting closer.

I told you, it's light, but it's weird green light. LMAO!

So when does Shatner's new show start?

December 2nd I believe. So Isaaky's show can't be far behind.
