When do you put up your Christmas Tree. The first of December?

I luuuuurve Christmas so much and I can't wait to put up the tree and wrap
up the presents and have some champagne while singing away to Isaak's
Christmas album.

I like to put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving (end of Nov in US). However, because I overschedule myself during the holiday season, sometimes I don't get to it until mid-December. We keep ours up until Eastern Orthodox Christmas in January.

I select a theme each year. Sometimes I go for crazy, silly, whimsical stuff. Last year, I was in a serious, somber mood. I hung a cross necklace from the treetop, placed a small, handcrafted nativity midtree and a sparkly metal sign that says "Believe". I brought a handmade tree skirt that features the nativity. It was so beautiful and simple. Everyone who visited loved it. Sadly, none of my photos of it did it any justice.

This year I have a present theme. Back to whimsy. LOL

Does anyone else have a Chris Isaak ornament?

Ohhhh you have a Chris Isaak ornament! Do tell ohmy.gif

I love the idea of a theme. I've been using the same ornaments
for about 5 years now. Maybe it's time to upgrade and have a
change. I think you've convinced me bonoist.

I happened upon it a couple of years ago. It was the year I did my rock and roll tree, so serendipity it was! It is a pearl colored bulb with his name written in red. I suspect it was put out when the Christmas CD was released, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

I guess the answer to that one, is whenever you feel like it these days! So go ahead Sugz, put up that tree and decorate it, and enjoy your champers and listening to Chris while you're at it. smile.gif I heard my first Xmas carol yesterday (in Safeway Balwyn). I think the general timetable goes like this.....first you have Xmas....which lasts until you see the first hot cross buns on the shelves at the supermarket (usually by the end of January) and then there's Easter for the next 4 months....you get a couple of weeks off over winter, and then October/November comes and Christmas has rolled around again! Life's just one, big, happy holiday as far as our retailers are concerned. rolleyes.gif
