I finally caught up with Chris's appearance on Aus Idol (thanks to YouTube) and was very surprised at Andrew G's stuff-up at the end. (The bit straight after Chris performing WG where he gives the Live album a plug). He pronounced it as 'Livvv in Australia' instead of 'Live'). At first I thought surely it must be a bit of scripted comedy, but then Andy G. looked very embarrassed.... What did other people think when they watched it live?? (And that's 'LYVE' - not 'LIVVV') tongue.gif Seems very unprofessional of him to make such a collosal blunder as that..... blink.gif

Heya Miss Cheryl,

Yeah...What a right Dickhead hey.I was so ashamed at the time.

Cheers,
Cheryl L.
Hmmm...well I've now just watched Part 2 of that back, and that part (where Chris takes over and is singing with the Idol guys) definitely WAS rehearsed so now I'm really confused about that first part (and I watched it back about 3 times). I think my brains are having a blonde moment laugh.gif All I can say is if it was for real, Chris did a brilliant job of rescuing Andy G - who most definitely did have a blonde moment. laugh.gif It wouldn't be the first time a local TV person got a Chris album wrong either. I remember years ago when Baja Sessions came out, Dylan something or other (Lewis...I think?) pronounced the Baja with a hard 'j'. I cringed....I'm sure a lot of other people did too. rolleyes.gif

The second part where Chris took over and sat on the couch with those guys was great! The bits where they all gave HIM criticism was funny as. biggrin.gif And it's so nice of him to make the offer to one of them to be his support act when he tours. What a sweetheart that man is. smile.gif

You wouldn't have cringed as much as me. I sat in the "Recovery" audience that Saturday morning, surrounded by 13 year olds, and everytime the camera swung around my friend and I ducked and covered. During the breaks, they actually threw lollies to the kiddies. huh.gif
Have it on tape somewhere ... so it's good for a laugh or two. laugh.gif

The things Chris Isaak makes you do! rolleyes.gif

As for those two on Idol, I have to agree with Stacey.... they're a right pair of dickheads.

Wow....now there's dedication for ya! You deserve a gold medal, an OBE, MBE, a knighthood (damehood??) gold star and big fat elephant stamp for that one my friend! laugh.gif (I would have loved the lolly part though......mmmmmm.......)

Yeah, those Idol hosts are very underwhelming. (Actually, I find the whole show pretty damn underwhelming, period, but then I don't watch it usually so what do I know?? laugh.gif ) Andy G. gets by on his pretty-boy looks and pops up in a lot of commercials too, but who the hell is the other guy?? He hasn't left much of an impression on the general populace has he?? I don't even know what his name is, lol.

What I thought was funny, was Aussie Idol has TWO Ryan Seacrests.

And that's a lot of gay. LOL

It was funny though how Chris corrected him and said umm it's Live in Australia although
he would love to Livvvv in Australia. Then he went into the whole you've been working too
hard thing and sent the boys backstage and told them he'd take over for them. Which he did.

I don't think it was unprofessional, just a slip up. It's live and it happens. Can't take it back
once it's out there. At the end of the day, he's only human. ha ha ha

Heya jac,

See,that's why I don't watch that complete waste of air-time.In fact,I don't
watch alot of channel ten at all.I only watched Idol for obvious reasons over
those two nights and gave the ole vcr a workout.
(Bloody thing chewed the tape last night though). mad.gif

Cheers mate,

P.S. 107 Sleeps to go now!!!!

Just a heads-up for those who all watched Chris on Aus. Idol a couple of weeks ago, I saw in the paper this morning that Wes Carr won it. (He was the leonine-looking bloke with the beard + long hair). The final was between him and Luke, the sheep-shearer.

As for the whole professional vs. unprofessional TV host thing, just one word here: research, baby....research. biggrin.gif

Heya Miss Cheryl,
Yeah, and didn't Chris invite Wes to go over there and hook up with the
producers of The Killers and hang out with him?

Cheers,
jac
I don't think Wes is going to need his help now Stacey. laugh.gif He seems to be one of the very few with any talent who has appeared on that show. Though you never know, he may be CI's support act next year, and if so, would be heaps better than Casey Chambers or that WOEFUL Candice Alley.

Anyway, I'll just add this little Isaak mention, and we can put this baby to bed.
This is from last weeks Green Guide, letters section.

Idol judges have gone soft

Something has happened to the once-entertaining showcase of musical talent, Australian Idol. For now, no matter how badly the singers perform, the judges have gone soft and refuse to say anything critical (apart from Kyle's occasional "What's with the crap dress?"). I thought I had confidence in brilliant musician Chris Isaak to see through the mostly mediocre singing, but alas, there seems to be someone crouching down and holding a knife to his back as well.
