Wow Kitty, you have some esoteric knowledge. I am impressed by all this information that you and the other members have gathered. You must be VDF = "very devoted fans" .
Cheryl L.
I'm with you, Mystelle, I'm impressed too! I thought I knew a lot (you kind of pick up so much stuff even just by default over the years, lol) but to know the really obscure stuff like the name of that community college and Chris's turtle - whoa! Now there's dedication for you. tongue.gif

O.k. what album of Chris's has pictures of Stockton depicted on the CD cover?

I would embarrass myself. How about Heart Shaped World? I am in Sylvan Lake and have none of my CDs to look at - all I can see in my mind's eye are head shots or him sitting or standing or leaning - he could be in Inuvik or Istanbul, I wouldn't notice. Please tell me the right answer.

I have a question for you and the long time consistent devotees:

In what television interview does CI make reference to his study of "tax law"? I will paraphrase: 'I studied tax law in preparation for this quiz' Now this caught my attention as I reviewed old footage of a talk show segment where CI was a guest ..... suddenly IRS Code Forms and the Canada-US Tax Treaty (5th Protocol) are on the list of potential topics of common interest. I can hardly wait to chat him up.

(I think it's the Stockton railway station??)

I have no idea about the interview/tax question.....and my knowledge of financial record-keeping is only at the piggybank level I'm afraid......*runs away quickly from anything involving maths and gobbledigook that requries a real brain to figure it all out* laugh.gif

I don't know about the "interview" but does anyone remember there was was an episode on the Chris Isaak Show where he studied for a debate when he was running for an office in San Francisco because he was upset about his property taxes?

My question is: Many of us were able to go to shows during the 2008 tour. What are three things that were new in the set from other tours?

There was also "The Best I Ever Had" but he's done that live before, I believe, just not for several years.

Ms. Fifi, you are correct about new songs! I was also thinking that there is a new backdrop, a smoke machine during some songs, and Kenney has a lighted drum kit now, although it wasn't lit up during every show I saw.

Now it's your turn to ask a question!
FifiKitty
My question would be "Why does Kenney need a lighted drum kit?"
Lisa+Chris
Because it's dark up on the stage, and it looks cool. wink.gif

In the absence of received wisdom from the sages of the board and having never seen an entire episode, I'm going to GUESS that it was Kenney Dale (because I can spell his name) and that he was having his tonsils removed...well, Maisey... Am I close?
jac
Sorry Mystelle, I am pretty sure it was Hershel. He was MIA for a few episodes, if I rightly recollect. I can't remember why he was missing in those episodes, and no way am I going to hunt down tapes and play them. So while we wait for the answer, here's some more trivia from that particular episode. And no, I am not insane enough to watch and take notes. This is from www.tv.com. wink.gif

1. As Chris and company drive through the lush farmland of the Central San Joaquin Valley, we see lots of farm equipment, livestock, and rolls of hay. That's lovely, however, hay is baled here, not rolled… (Not a big deal, no, but rolled hay is definitely not something one sees around these parts every day.) :-)

2. After Chris receives his police badge from Mayor Roberts, he proceeds to pin it to his leather jacket, on the left side right below the collar. He's still wearing it as he leads Kenney, Roly, and Anson off on a tour of Stockton. In Chris' next scene, (one scene later,) as he's leading Kenney and Roly (we'd seen that Anson left the "tour" the scene before,) toward the Grand Avenue Music store, Chris is no longer wearing his
coveted police badge…

3. As Chris enters the music store and chats with the proprietor, Mr. Strupman, we see that Chris' jacket is open (unbuttoned.) In the next scene, as he's running away from the store (glancing back over his left
shoulder, presumably in fear of "old man Strupman,") his jacket is closed and buttoned. Granted, he could have done that as he fled, but since Mr. Strupman didn't have any kind words for our hero, I would doubt
that he'd take the time, as he ran, to button up his jacket…

4. In the final scene, as Chris is pulled over by a California Highway Patrol Officer, the car is correct, (a black-and-white cruiser with the correct insignia on the door,) as is the general look of the uniform.
However, as the officer is writing up Chris' ticket, we see that the patch on his right shoulder says "State Trooper," when it should say "California Highway Patrol."

Maisey: Are you serious! ....one of the band members actually had a tonsilectomy? Hershel ( I always put a "c" in his name otherswise I would have guessed him). That was a wild-ass guess! Did you take these photos yourself? Great photo of Chris and you in White Rock - our offices are less than a block from that location. How does your significant other deal with you being "smitten" /"crush"? Must not be the jealous type! You two look very good together. You look very happy! When were these photos taken?

It was Hershel and he was having his tonsils removed. I'm think that was just the story line for the show. (but don't know for sure)
Yes, I took the photos myself, except for the one of me and Chris. Thanks, I think we look pretty good together as well. These photos were taken on October 30th and 31st, 2001.
My husband handles my 'crush' quite well. If you remember from my photos from the River Rock, he took photos of me and Chris at the M&G that I didn't expect. He takes a lot of ribbing from friends but he knows that Chris is his only competition and I only get to see him a couple of times a year! He came to all 3 shows with me and he's going to 2 shows in Vegas with me.
FifiKitty
Well, Maiseygal, perhaps between me and your husband we can prevent you from climbing the stage in Vegas. Oh, wait, that's Niagara Fan who has a propensity to stage climb. laugh.gif

I will be looking for footage of all three of you, Lisa, Maisey and Fifi on stage - so Maisey's man ( Vancouver resident) better have his camera ready!

Again, being the person with the least knowledge and history of the subject matter, I will be your "straight (wo)man" and GUESS that (1) he won the 'pink slip' in a street drag race with one of his two brothers and then sunk a ton of $$ into rebuilding it; or (2) he bought it at a police auction; (3) he found it at an auto wreckers - just a shell - and then rebuilt it; or (4) it was a gift from a very close friend - Stevie Nicks? Sheryl Louis et al, ? or (5) it was a gift from a San Francisco classic car dealership; (6) he wrote it into an early contract as a "diva" [ what's the masculine for diva? ]requirement. Are any one of these close?
FifiKitty
Mystelle, your possible answer #1 is the closest. ("he won the 'pink slip' in a street drag race from one of his brothers and then sunk a ton of $$ into rebuilding it")

Chris' brother, Nick, found the car for him in the '80's. Chris said it in an interview and Nick has said the same. As far as I know, Chris still has the car.

Sequinlicious, if he plays an English teacher, then he's not really acting! Given that his degree is in Communications (same as my first degree). Fifi? Maisey? Is his first degree English or Communications? Is it from the college or Pacific University? He went to prep school/college (whatever they call it south of the 49th parallel) as well as university. Was the prep school equivalent to Canadian matriculation/upgrading or is that a transitional year (two) which is credited at the university level, ultimately? Never did understand that system!

Anyway, if he plays and English teacher - minimal stretch as a thespian (dramatic or comedic). Is that playing "type". He was good in Twinn Peaks - the bits and pieces that I have seen. I'm sure I watched several of those episodes without knowing who he was. It was escapism in law school.

Mystelle, Chris' degree was in English and Communication Arts from the University of the Pacific. I think the leaning was toward Communication Arts.

Someone else will have to fill us on what he did at college before that. Business Studies?

I don't know how the college thing works before university in the U.S. I went straight to university from high school.
