Ahhh....the late, the great, the one and only Blue Hotel ~ the greatest of them all! Did you use the Way Back Machine to grab those? I never did find out who did that drawing of Chris, or if I did at the time, I've forgotten about it now. Hmmm...I wonder what David Latham is doing now.....

Stuff, I have never seen that picture of Chris before from that Unofficial Home Page. It was pretty cool looking at it.

Very cool pictures! The caricature looks like Link Wray, or just about any Rockabilly artist from the 50's, early 60's. I saw some girls with homemade t-shirts that read, "Silvertone Devils", I thought that was very clever, and the devil motif they painted on them was very cute also.
I LOVE the picture below on the next post...yummy!

That page was indeed da bomb....the dinky synthesized "Wicked Game" that would play when you opened it...the artwork...a lack of sniping from the participants...back when Kenny used to respond to all the emails he got! Ahh, the salad days, gone forever....

Nothing stays the same forever ... and no-one is going to be younger tomorrow. All the more reason to enjoy the moment. Alrighty, another little indulgence ... bear with me.

Edible Flowers

Everybody wants the same thing
Everybody wants the same thing
To see another birthday

Look at all the pretty numbers
Look at all the pretty numbers
Scattered on the calendars

I can see my reflection
I can see my reflection
In the shop window

Who owns that space
Declare it if you dare tonight
Don't let the moment pass
Until another day

Bright lights dissolve
Like sugar deep inside you now
It all ends up the same somehow
I'm hardly here at all

All the trash and the treasure
All the trash and the treasure
All the pain and the pleasure

Taste the edible flowers
Taste the edible flowers
Scattered in the salad days

Who owns that space
Declare it if you dare tonight
Don't let the moment pass
Until another day

Bright lights dissolve
Like sugar deep inside you now
And still the rain keeps coming down
I'm hardly here at all

And everything's gone quiet now
I'm hardly here at all

The reference to the long-gone salad days reminded me of this song. Go to the following site and click on the audio/video link on the left. There is a promo video of Edible Flowers but mainly you can listen to the song right the way through - hallelujah! This is from about 3 years ago. The boys are hairier now and Tim is white, looks great! There's talk that Neil is going to reform Crowded House.
I don't mind what they do (solo, the two of them, Split Enz, Crowded House) just so long as they stick around and keep coming up with the goods and putting on the great concerts and all that wonderful stuff smile.gif smile.gif

I love the Finn Bros. too and have gone to see Neil solo and the Finns together in the last several years.

I saw Neil Finn at the Los Angeles House of Blues (where I WISH Chris and Silvertone would hit this tour!) when he had guest players with him. What a fun night.

Good onya. Pardon me, I keep saying that now, ever since Chris wrote it on my Best of a few weeks ago laugh.gif

The Finns are fantastic and they really do get better and better, just like Isaak and co. I wish more people in the US had seen and heard them. They are known (Neil more so) but not widely. I like Tim more and more. He's so good and he's really mellowed since having his kids later in life. The recent Split Enz gigs were definitely Tim's. He really shone smile.gif However Neil was more of a presence in the second show I saw - not to be outdone and all that! He cracked out his mandolin and played some lovely acoustic stuff, and made sure he was the star turn when he beat Eddie Rayner, the keyboard player, (but it was close!) in a frisbee competition - yep, inside, but it was a big venue and Neil has a great arm laugh.gif laugh.gif Like you said, great music and great fun too!

I like the Finns very much also, boy, what harmonies Neil(?) could perform with Chris! Or is it Tim? Or both?? I saw Chris 3 times at HOB LA and also in Vegas at HOB, and it is the BEST place to see him. It looks just like Bimbos as far as size and setup. Why indeed isn't he playing there this time, OR Santa Barbara for that matter?? He always played on the 24th of August! I saw him 2 years in a row on the same date! He loves Santa Barbara, and SB loves him, plus it's close to home, so I don't get it??? Anyway, love sharing with you all, stay cool.

Hey, I forgot to ask about Good onya. He wrote "This is gonna look good on ya" on my tank top!! How funny. What did "Dig it" mean? He wrote that 3 years ago on a black shirt with a silver pen that didn't show up. I much prefer the one where he drew a phone and a heart! Everyone said it means he's love to call you...then why didn't he give me a number, huh????? He is bizarre, I don't understand why he called me, spoke to me, asked if I'd like to get together, called again and left a message that saying, "Karen, it's Chris, I'll try ya again, Ciao" and then nothing, no callback number...!!!??? Talk about frustrating! Anyone wlse have an experiance like that???
