IS THERE A MASTER PLAN?

Response to No. I'm sure Chris was crying inside.
Gracefully aging crooner, great performer into his 60s...
or will it be $$$ VIPs and silly appearances that make his entire recording history seem distant and gone.

Like i said in the other thread, i just don't get why some people jump to the conclusion that he did it for the money, the exposure, or because people think he's all washed up.
Firstly, Chris has never masked the Rat Pack influence, I think that he wears it proudly on his sleeve. That's why i dig his music so much, he's a crossover between country, western, bluegrass, rockabilly, rock n' roll, swing, and crooner type music.
Once again, maybe he just wanted to do it. Maybe when he's not playing on a saturday night, he sits in front of the tv with a bowl of popcorn and his dog, and laughs his fool ass off at SNL and the whole Lonely Island thing. Maybe MTV mentioned that they wanted a crooner type singer to do a duet with leeanne rimes, doing the medley of songs, and he jumped for it out of his own interest? Forrest Whittaker is also a funny guy (Good morning, Vietnam), and has done some pretty out there stuff (Ghost Dog)...I dunno, it made me laugh regardless.
