A quick hello to everyone. I haven't been active here for a while because I'm busy with summer activities, my girls and taking care of my Dad. Just got back from Corolla beach, NC, too. Anyway, I wanted to thank all who have been posting the videos, pics., and updates. I've been trying to catch up and enjoying them. So, if anyone was wondering what happened to me, I'm still around, just not posting as much. I'm going to Wolf Trap on the 27th of July. If anyone here is going to that show and wants to meet up at some point, let me know. Ciao for now....

I've been wondering what happened to you. It's been quiet around here, everyone's leaving. How was Corolla Beach? I've been checking out houses to rent in August but I'm not too sure on the 8 hour drive.

Hey, wildflower. Corolla Beach is very nice. The beaches are more natural with sand dunes and alot of wildlife. The water was the perfect temperature...a little chilly at first, but very refreshing and felt good after being in it for a few minutes. We saw alot of pelicans and a few osprey and some deer. There were some seagulls, but they are not everywhere like they are on our beaches. One day there was a ferret walking down the beach with a parade of people (mainly kids) following it. I'm guessing it was a pet that got away...poor thing! We went up to the beach you can drive on a few times and saw a beautiful wild mare with her new born foal. SO cute!! August down there can get really hot. I was down there a few years ago during August, and a heat wave was hanging with us for the entire week. Every day was close to 100 degrees, and some days over 100! It was brutal. Good luck on finding a house....most of them book up fairly quickly. We may go back down in August for a shorter getaway and stay at a hotel, but it depends on funds available. The drive was not too bad, but we did leave at 5 a.m. to get ahead of the traffic. Going back, we left a day early in the evening, to beat the maddness of traffic around DC on the 4th. I can't say it was a relaxing getaway ( as having children at the beach never is), but it was still alot of fun and a nice change of scenery.

Hey, Fifi! How are you? My Dad is hanging in there. He has a really bad back and sometimes is in alot of pain. He is also a diabetic and has had open heart surgery in the past. He has lost alot of wieght this year and just needs help doing things he's no longer strong enough to do, or can't do because of his back issues. His wife (my stepmonster) went into the hopsital a few weeks ago with a rare form of ecoli. She has now returned home (ugh!), has some of her strength back, and seems to be up to her control games again. I'm going to call him in the am tomorrow and hopefully get him on the phone instead of the nasty one. My twin sister left a message today and never got a reply. Either his wife listened to the message and erased it (yeah, she does that), or maybe they just haven't checked their messages. My older sister will be flying in from California toward the end of July to help us with the organizing and purging of things throughout my Dad's house to get the process started on getting their house ready to sell in the fall, or if needed, spring. Sigh...it's going to be a long summer, but at least I have an Isaak concert to look forward to!
We had a bunch of rainy days, but lately our weather has been really beautiful. It's not as hot and muggy as it usually is here. I'm sure it's on it's way, so I'm making as much as I can of the pleasant days while they last.

Hey Lilo,

I'm fine, thanks for asking and my family is hanging in there, recovering from various surgeries over the past number of months. I know what it's like to worry about a parent's health. I hope your Dad is OK. I don't know what it's like to have an evil stepmonster, though. My Mom and Dad celebrated their 49th anniversary a couple of weeks ago. I don't envy you having to deal with your family situation.

Enjoy your Chris concerts this summer. That should take your mind off things. Take care!

Thanks Fifi! Wow, 49 years married...that is something to be very proud of! Happy anniversary to them. You are lucky to have folks that are still together and happily married. If there is one thing I could change if I could go backward in time, it would be for my parents to have worked things out and stayed together. Thank God I had my twin to lean on (and vice-versa) during those tough times. It is also a reason I strive so hard to make my own marriage work.
Yes, the Isaak concert will be a bright spot in my summer, for sure.

Thanks, Lilo. Yes, 49 years is quite an achievement. They only have 11 years to go to catch up to Mr. and Mrs. Isaak. (Can you image SIXTY years?) I am very lucky that my parents are still together. Sorry yours did not stay together. Being married (or should I say staying married) is certainly not easy.

Our parents just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month. We had a huge party mainly planned by my Dad. It was like they were having another wedding celebration. But it is fortunate that they are both in good health, working (not even retired) and still together after all these years.

I'm glad you mentioned the 50th anniversary, Niagara Fan. I didn't want to steal your thunder by saying anything. Your parents must be awfully fine people. Congrats to them!

Oh....howdy Miss Lilo! I haven't been on here as much either due to the craziness of mean, hostile members in the last month.

I, do, however check in here and there.

I have tickets to the Aug. 25th concert, but will not be reporting here on this concert due my nasty experience here from last year's concert report......and the current nastiness still happening over at BH board.....so I will only be sharing with my Myspace friends. Are we friends on Myspace? I thought we were...but can't remember if you go by different name.
