I was watching the movie "North Shore" this morning on TV and noticed at the beginning of it that Chris's song "Blue Hotel" was playing in the background in one scene. I thought that was pretty cool. The movie was made in 1987. It stars Matt Adler, Gregory Harrison, and Nia Peeples. Thought I'd mention it.

When you were about nine years old? Sometimes I can't remember what I had for breakfast. Wow, good memory smile.gif

North Shore has always been one of my favorite movies. Mom and I quote lines out of it all the time. I love the soundtrack, but I have never been able to find it in any form (record, cassette, CD, etc), and I know it is out of print. If anyone happens to know where I can find a copy, please let me know!

Thanks,

Hey you,

Good to see you hanging around again.
This lil' rockabilly filly has missed you. smile.gif

Endless Summer was really cool and I've just
recently seen Riding Giants. Hello - how fricken
inspiring is that documentary. Greg Nolls, Jeff
Clarke and Laird Hamilton. biggrin.gif

I'm a huge fan!

Hey, Miss Sugz! Thanks for the info. I have the movie DVD, I'm searching for any recording of the soundtrack. I wasn't very clear. Most of the songs were performed by a band called Pseudo Echo, which I think is Australian. I've searched since 1987 but I have come up empty-handed.

Yeah, I love surf movies. I grew up watching them and "studying" them. I tried to watch for different techniques that might improve my own performance. I wanted to see Blue Crush just to know if it's any good. But you have to love the classics like Endless Summer -- the cover art and theme song say it all. And you can't forget Big Wednesday. It's better now that I'm older, but I remember when I first saw it I was in no rush for the production of "Big Thursday." happy.gif (That doughnut on the wiener part was pretty funny, though.)

OMG Talon...I just had to comment on 'Pseudo Echo'. That's a real blast from (my youthful) past! My gawd....brings back lots of memories. Ahhh....the 80's. biggrin.gif

Sorry, I'm not into surfing myself, but have to post that if anyone from Chris's people reads these things, (maybe the infamous 'minion'?? wink.gif And I mean that in an affectionate way! Whatever it is they're paying you minion dear - it ain't enough!!) smile.gif Anyway, if you're out there, please tell Chris that when he comes down here to Melbourne in Aus. he HAS to find time to visit the Surfing Museum down at Torquay. He's playing at Geelong, and Torquay is only just down the highway from there (just tell him to head for the coast - and that it's on the right-hand side of the highway as he heads for Bell's Beach. laugh.gif ). He'd LOVE this place.

O.k. I just went and dug the link up: http://www.surfworld.org.au/

Hang ten!! biggrin.gif

LOL. I read somewhere only recently (think it's probably due to the 'Countdown Revivial' thing) that apparently at the height of their fame, Brian Canham was individually sponsored by a hairspray company. laugh.gif

There's a Beat for You babe, are you Listening?! hee hee.
