I think he is too. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself. Been there, didn't like it and don't want to go back.

Sorry to any Parisians reading this post.
Oh, Paris is a gorgeous place, that's for sure, but like any other city there are parts of it that are truly dodgy. If you walk through the Pigalle for instance (the red light district - where the Moulin Rouge is) it can be a little hairy. I was with a BIG group of people when I went through there (both boys and girls - I think there were at least 7-8 of us) and one of the girls was walking on the outside of the group closest to the gutter. A car pulled up and two guys jumped out, and literally tried to drag her into the car and drive off with her. Luckily the guys in our party fought them off, otherwise I don't know what would have happened. They jumped back into their car and sped off. It all happened so fast you just didn't have time to think about what was happening until it was all over. I also remember Paris as being one of the dirtiest European cities I've ever been in...I don't think I've ever seen so much dog poo on every street corner.

Still, I've also got great memories of Paris too...if I could live there for say, a year just to experience it all properly, I'd do it in a heartbeat But, like every city, you just have to be careful.
